Guideline related to: Article 10 paragraph 4, Annex VII

 

Question:

In which language must the EC declaration of conformity be written ?

Answer:

The EC declaration of conformity shall be drawn up in one of the official languages of the European Union, as chosen by the manufacturer or agreed by contract with the client.

Note:

In the process of the market surveillance, a national authority may request a translation of the EC declaration of conformity into its official language (see  the guide to the implementation of directives based on New approach and Global approach § 8.2).
