Pressure equipment directive 97/23/EC

Guideline related to: Article 1, paragraphs 3.1 and 3.20

Question:

Are substations for district heating pipelines to be considered as “assemblies” in the Pressure Equipment Directive (PED) ?

Answer:

Yes

These substations are located after the last isolation device, normally within the con-fines of the building or industrial installation, and thus are not covered by exclusion 3.1 of Article 1.
