Goal
To demonstrate the potential for renewable energy storage and diversification of use through the development of the H2seed Facility
Description
The Hebridean Hydrogen Park Initiative is the phased development of the region’s hydrogen infrastructure. This has delivered the Hebridean Hydrogen Laboratory, a purpose built teaching and research facility at Lews Castle College, University of the Highlands and Islands, that is developing the local practical skills base required to support subsequent technology deployment. The H2seed Facility demonstrates the principle of renewable hydrogen generation, storage and dispensing thereby creating an indigenous fuel in a region with a high dependency on hydrogen-carbon fuels and yet an excellent renewable energy resource. Technology suppliers: PURE EnergyTM Centre – Electrolyser & Control System Air Products – Refueller & Storage, one dispenser series 100 Project Consultants: NTDA Energia, Spain PURE EnergyTM Centre, Scotland. Funding Partners: Scottish Government, Stornoway Trust.
