Goal
Assess the relevance of Hythane® as a short term transition towards hydrogen. Provide immediate benefits with reduction of urban pollution and GHG. Take advantage of synergy with NGV infrastructure & vehicle technologies.
Description
The refuelling station is situated in the NGV bus depot. H2 is produced on site by an electrolyser, compressed and stored (CGH2). The Hythane blend is prepared on demand during the filling. 2 buses will run for the demonstration. Gaz de France (coordinator), H2 Développement (local coordinator), CUD (Greater Dunkirk Metropolitan Council), STDE (bus operator), Hydrogenics (H2 generator and station), Irisbus (bus manufacturer), Ineris (safety studies), GNVert (NGV station operator), ADEME (funding) and Région Nord Pas de Calais. In summer 2012 the station went out of operation, equipment was removed, foundation is still there and in stand-by status.
