Description
|
March 2008 David E. Langdon, chairman of the Albany County Airport announced the launch of the Airport’s portion of HyIMPACT, a joint hydrogen vehicle test program which will be undertaken by the Albany International Airport and the Capital DistrictTransportation Authority. The demonstration project is funded by the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) as part of its Hydrogen Roadmap Program. The Airport will add two hydrogen-powered pickup trucks to its growing fleet of “green” vehicles which currently features compressed natural gas (CNG) powered shuttle buses and pick-up trucks.
The project will also include the construction of a hydrogen fueling station that will serve the two Airport vehicles as well as two vehicles being placed into service by the Capital District Transportation Authority. The hydrogen fueling station was installed at the Airport by Air Liquide. No further information is available.
The status of the station is unclear.
