Duties to communicate information for actors in the supply chain
Comprehensive duties to communicate information along the supply chain also form part of REACH
These duties vary depending on the role involved (manufacturer, importer, downstream user, retailer) and must be fulfilled within various deadlines.
Since 28 October 2008, for example, obligations concerning communication in the supply chain have come into effect for suppliers of articles containing certain substances of very high concern (SVHC) in a concentration above a certain limit. In this case, the threshold of 1 t/a per substance and company, frequently a "cut-off criterion" in REACH, does not apply.
Consumers also have a significantly greater right to receive risk communication.
