What is the EU's New Directive? (29.10.2014)
Pressure Equipment Directive (97/23/EC) is being replaced by a new Directive (2014/68/EU) that is aligned to the New Legislative Framework.
Manufacturers of pressure equipment and vessels will need to review and adapt their CE marking procedures and documentation.

Effective Dates for the New Directive:
- June 1, 2015:
Article 13 on Classification of dangerous substances for the Classification of Pressure Equipment and Assemblies
- July 19, 2016:
The new guideline 2014/68/EU replaces the old Pressure Equipment Directive 97/23/EG obligatorily.
What remained, what changed?
There is no change in The Scope of the PED or to Conformity Assessment tables.
Most of the changes to the new Directive have to do with re-wording, re-ordering, and re-numbered, there are very few changes to conformity and most have to do with updating documentation.
Existing Certificates shall be valid under this Directive (article 48).
