Systems Engineering / Pressure Equipment: On July 19th the Pressure Equipment Directive 97/23/EG will be expired (03.05.2016)
Pressure Equipment Directive (97/23/EC) is being replaced by a new Directive (2014/68/EU) that is aligned to the New Legislative Framework. Manufacturers of pressure equipment and vessels will need to review their CE marking procedures and documentation.
The classification of pressure equipment, Article 13 (Article 9 in 97/23/EC) had to be undertaken according to the new Pressure Equipment Directive 2014/68/EU from mid 2015.
Application of the complete Pressure Equipment Directive 2014/68/EU by the Member States will become mandatory from 19 June 2016. Directive 97/23/EC will be invalid from that point. All changes resulting from the introduction of the new directive must be implemented by this date.
